Yoga for everybody and every body...

Private Sessions

Kate is available for private yoga instruction, partner yoga, group sessions, and yoga-at-work programs.
Practicing yoga that combines movement, breath and meditation brings vital energy to the body, peace to the mind and a spirit that is free and joyful. Kate teaches in a combination of the Swami Satchidananda and Krishnamachrya tradition in that she balances effort with ease in each pose while fostering a non-competitive environment focusing on the needs of the individual - all in a meditative and light-hearted manner. Kate wishes to guide her students towards feeling energetically centered as well as help them cultivate their own practice.

If you're not sure what kind of yoga is right for you, we will figure that out together and Kate will design sessions that meet your needs. All skill levels are welcome and respected; no previous experience is necessary to start private sessions.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is for anyone interested in a more gentle practice, particularly those recovering from an injury or illness and/or going through an emotionally sensitive time. Restorative yoga is also a wonderful practice for those who work or live in a high stress environment. Sessions are a combination of gentle yoga, breath work, guided meditation and hands-on healing.

Prenatal Yoga

The changing female body and mind is honored and guided through a gentle and fluid practice that develops strength and energy, while also allowing you to deeply relax. Yoga can alleviate common discomforts felt during pregnancy such as backache, leg cramps, varicosities, swelling, and stiff muscles. Practicing yoga during pregnancy brings better sleep and digestion, connection to your developing baby, and wisdom for labor and birth.

Hatha, Vinyasa or a combination of the two styles

Hatha is the balance between effort ("ha") and ease ("tha"). Learn the classical basic poses (asanas), or enhance the poses you're already practicing, moving at your comfortable pace. Develop body awareness and proper alignment.

Vinyasa means "to place in a special way". Once you're comfortable with some basic poses, learn to feel your body's natural pulse and rhythm and flow from one pose into the next working to increase stamina, strength, flexibility and grace.

Partner Yoga

Partner yoga can be practiced with a beloved, parent, child, or friend. Practicing poses in tandem is a fun way to form a deeper bond with the partner of your choice. Partner yoga helps you appreciate differences, gain a sense of your partner's rhythm, and share silent moments together.

Yoga for Kids (ages 7 - 10)

Sessions for younger children are playful and involve movement through games and story telling, foundational poses, breathing, music and relaxation Along with increasing strength and coordination, yoga allows kids to channel energy, calm and sharpen their mind, feel free to be creative, and express their emotions.

Yoga for Pre-teens and Teens (ages 11 - 18)

Sessions for pre-teens and teens build confidence and self-awareness and involve foundational poses, breathing, music and relaxation. Teens deal with demands of school, peers, parents and often jobs. Yoga is a wonderful way to help manage that stress, clear the clutter of the mind and bring balance to daily life.
